Izunami ITC-450 Review
Though Izunami is not a household name when it comes to styling implements, this futuristic flat iron is definitely one of the best straighteners on the market.
It heats up rapidly, and has temperature settings over 450 degrees Fahrenheit, which is hotter than almost any other flat iron available commercially.
This Izunami model is a favorite among both professional hair stylists and beauty enthusiasts, as its ceramic plates improve the health of hair, making it shinier and smoother, without the damaging effect of some other flat irons.
The 1-inch ceramic and tourmaline plates are infused with special ions to help hair absorb moisture and close of the shaft so that hair cannot loose moisture throughout the day. The plates are gold in a black and white, flat, streamlined casing that has a futuristic element.
The unit is all equipped with a safety function, that will switch the unit off after a period of inactivity, which not only preserves energy, but also makes it safer to use.
The “flash heating” feature also allows for greater safety, as you can turn it on and start styling immediately, instead of letting it heat up on its own as you complete other tasks.
The plates are raised out of the casing, making it very easy to grip the hair and slid it through, without worrying about it getting caught on the casing itself. The ceramic plates are super-smooth and refuse to snag the hair, no matter how many times you use it.
Because it heats up rapidly and has a heat recover function, you can cut down your styling time, without waiting for the iron to heat up, and then stay heated up. This unit is great even for the curliest, coarsest hair. If you are transitioning from chemically straightened hair to natural hair, for example, this flat iron can achieve the same results as the chemical straighteners.
While this unit does have ionic technology, it is not the best model for removing static from hair, especially at high heats. If you do have very curly or very thick hair that requires high heats in order to style properly, this may not be the unit you want to selection.
There is also a beeping feature on this unit that indicates when it is finished heating up, which will continue beeping throughout the entire process as it loses heat and regains it again. It also lacks the design to be practical for curling the hair.
If you are looking for a flat iron model that can efficiently straighten and add a flip to your hair, this is a great model. If you are, however, looking for a model that functions as an all-around styling tool, this flat iron is not the one for you. As a straightener, it works exceptionally well, even on difficult-to-style, very dense, very coarse hair. It is simply not designed to handle other functions, like curling and waving.
