Sedu Revolution Review

With ceramic and tourmaline plates, this flat iron is perfect for curly, thick hair or frizzy, straight hair.

Sedu Revolution

One of the unique features of this iron is the rounded edges of the straightening plates, which not only prevent your hair from developing those crimp marks that some flat irons will create, but also enables you to create almost any style with your Sedu Revolution flat iron.

With negative ions, the flat iron is also safe to use, even at high temperatures, even on damaged hair. This flat iron is a favorite of many professional hair stylists, because it is easy to use and less expensive than many other premier flat irons.

The Sedu Revolution is equipped with 1-inch ceramic, tourmaline straightening plates, with rounded edges. The plates themselves have been carefully polished, so that there are no snag points for the hair to get caught on and so that the hair glides smoothly.

This unit has a quick heat-up feature and a range of temperatures between 180 degrees and 450 degrees. It comes it both a black and a pink model, but the 1-inch plates are the only thickness.

On both models, the casing is rounded and tapered at the end, and the cord is attached with a swivel unit that prevents it from getting in the way or becoming tangled.

The good

The super-smooth plates glide through all types of hair smoothly, and the flat iron heats up quickly and stays hot, even after many passes through cold hair. The ceramic plates and ceramic heater are designed to sense when plates are losing heat and pump out more to keep the heat consistent.

The ionic quality of the plates seals in any moisture on the shaft of the hair, so that instead of coming out fried, your hair will be soft, shiny, and voluminous.

The adjustable temperature makes it easy to find the right heat setting for your hair, for optimal styling and less damage. The unique curved edge of the plates makes this very unit the best flat iron for all around styling.

The bad

This iron is rather heavy, especially in comparison to other flat irons on the market, which can make it difficult to hold and straighten your hair with. It also has some difficulty on hair that is both curly and coarse. If you have this type of hair, it may not be able to adequately straighten and flatten your hair.

Our verdict

Unless you do have very thick and curly hair, this is a great flat iron to purchase. It definitely fights frizz and prevents damage to hair. The rounded casing is perfect for curling and waving hair, along with the specially designed plates, making this flat iron not just a straightener, but a tool that can replace a curling iron or wand as well. The range of heat settings allows for almost every type of hair, enabling you to straighten your hair perfectly, even with only one pass through the hair.
